The Terroir & Ecology

CANOPY & CLIMATE

The millet capital of Kerala, located on the fringes of the Western Ghats. For generations, the Irula, Muduga, and Kurumba tribes have cultivated these drought-resistant grains.

SOIL & MOISTURE

Their farming practices are an unbroken testament to survival, patience, and absolute ecological alignment.

THE FIRST HANDS

The crops are completely rainfed. When the rest of the world moved to subsidized rice, these communities preserved their specific landrace seeds for centuries without external intervention.
